A Parish Council is required to create and regularly review a number of standard documents and policies. Below is a brief description:
Standing Orders
Standing Orders are reviewed annually and contain the rules by which the Council operate. Some of the orders are statutory whereas others can be modified by Council.
Financial Regulations
Financial regulations are set partly through the statutory requirements and the reviewed and added to by Council on an annual basis.
Risk Analysis
It is mandatory for a Parish Council to have a Risk Analysis which is reviewed annually
Asset Register
The asset register is a list of the assets of the Parish Council. They are shown with the purchase price of the asset as opposed to the value of the asset. There is no depreciation in Parish Council accounting systems
