The main aim of the role of village Recorder is to collect, observe and record what is happening in the village today, as that will become tomorrow's history. An annual report is then deposited in the Suffolk Archive to enable anyone in years to come, to read what happened in years past. The role can be expanded to record more of the history of the village; peoples' recollections, buildings no longer there or changed, indeed shops and other village facilities gone due to changes in the way of life now lived.
